If you use Windows XP then you already have a small backup facility in your operating system. Though you may not find all the features that you may get in some advanced software these features are free and easy to use.
You can easily use this back-up facility of Windows XP by using some steps mentioned below:
1. You need to click ‘Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Backup’ while opening the backup features. If you do not disable the Restore Wizards or Backup will start. If it does not start you have to click ‘Tools > Backup Wizard’ from the menu
2. Click on the ‘Next’ button
3. Under ‘What do you want to do?’ window you should click on the ‘Backup files and settings’ and click on ‘Next’
4. Then you need to decide the data you want to backup from several options such as everyone’s documents and settings, my documents and settings, let me choose what to backup, all information on this computer.
5. As you have selected what to backup you have to choose the right place to save your backup. In the ‘Choose a place to save your backup’. You may specify the place where you can store the files. There are some options such as external hard disk, local hard disk.
