In my previous post I have shared a few points on how to speed up Windows Vista .Of late I have collected few more tips which I want to share with you.
Tweaks the programs – Sometimes running more than one programs can steal resources. Often programs like image editor that are included with print drivers run from the startup when you do not even use them. You should uninstall those programs which you do not use at all.
Permit advanced performance on a SATA drive – Allowing advanced performance on SATA drive may speed up Windows Vista. But this option is usually deactivated. To do this you need to type ‘devmgmt.msc’ from the command line in order to open the Device Manager. Then go to the disk Drives tab and right click on the SATA drive. Select properties from the menu, select the policies tab and finally go through the ‘ Enable Advanced Performance’ box.
Clean the registry – registry is the powerhouse of the computer. But most of all computer user neglect and do not take care of this part properly. Registry keeps track of each and every entry we make on our computer. Once the registry gets over flooded with invalid entries the computer becomes slow. Therefore, using registry cleaner may be an effective way to speed up Windows Vista. Apart from speeding up, registry cleaner also remove Windows error that can pop up while booting up.
Delete Trojans and viruses and keep your computer safe – Removing viruses, Trojans can speed up your computer. You may use free tools such as Avast for antivirus protection and Spyboat for spyware protection and Zonealerm for firewall to keep your PC safe from malware. But using such freeware you should thoroughly check whether they are spyware themselves or not.
These steps are very simple and easy to follow. If you can execute these steps successfully it will help to speed up Windows Vista and offer you a faster PC experience which you are craving for a long time.
