Remove General Antivirus

If you are a regular computer user and have little idea about spyware and other malware then you might know that the General Antivirus is a very nasty spyware which can almost damage your computer. Once it sneaks into your computer it will start performing fake scans and show the fake results of these scans. The sole intension of the hackers who craft this nasty program is to scam the money of the innocent computer users. It uses a logo which is almost similar to Microsoft. But the most dangerous thing is that it takes partial control over your browser and redirects you to malicious websites. It also downloads some malicious codes that steal all your personal online information and put your online identity at risk.

Therefore, it is necessary to get rid off it as soon as you get the trace of it in your PC. But you should not try to remove it manually unless you are a computer user. If you accidentally delete any genuine file it may damage your entire system. But if you are confident enough you can follow these steps following which you can delete the infection manually:

1. Block the attached websites

2. Look for the malicious procedures: GenAvir.exe, file.exe, GeneralAntivirus.exe, services.exe, iv.exe, and unins000.exe by using Task Manager and remove them.

3. Unregister General Antivirus.lnk files
Buy License.lnk
settings.ini
uill.ini

4. Remove associated files that are in the directories:
%common files%
%ApplicationData%
%Documents and Settings%
%UserProfile%

5. Remove the rough registry entries from the registry folders mentioned below.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
HKEY_CURRENT_USER

But it is always better and safer to use a virus removal tool which will remove the infection automatically and offer real time protection to your computer in future.
