Now in the year 2009 it has become one of the most popular operating system used by a number of computer users all over the world. It has lots of useful features like repair feature which have made it popular. But it has a lot of drawbacks which you can fix following the methods mentioned below:
• First you have to check whether there is any hardware problem. If not, you may simply repair the problem by fixing the software problems.
• You should take the back up of your important data before formatting the Windows XP. All your data will be intact even after completing the repairing process if you follow the instruction properly.
• Begin the process with Windows XP CD. Insert the CD into the DVD or CD-ROM and restart the computer. When the message “ any key to boot from the CD” will show on the monitor press any key to start the computer from the CD of Windows XP.
• A blue screen will emerge and the XP installation will start loading from the CD.
• You will get the instruction to “press F6 to install any 3rd party RAID or SCSI drivers” if you are running SCSI or RAID controllers. But if you are not sure whether you are running RAID or SCSI then let the CD load without pressing F6.
• After files are loaded completely you will be given the following “Windows Setup” and its first option. You should select “ To set up Windows XP now, press Enter”.
• When the end user license agreement screen will be displayed you should press F8 and continue.
• Then you will be asked to either install a new copy of Windows XP or repair the existing Windows XP installation. You may not get this option if they do not have the facility or if the data or partition of the hard drive is damaged severely.
• The process is almost completed. The newly installed Windows XP will look like the previous one. But it will remember and store all settings and data. You should follow the instruction and if required have to keep the CD-KEY ready.
