Microsoft Redefining Windows 7 with Locking System

The global popularity of Windows 7 cannot be denied. In contrast with Vista, it has expanded its recognition within a very short period of time. It is due to its enhanced features and improved performance.

It will be really exciting to know that for Windows 7, Microsoft removed several locks that seriously hindered its performance. The most fascinating part is that the elimination is without breaking a single application. For instance, the global dispatcher lock has gone completely and replaced by fine-grained locking. The later provides eleven types of more specific locks as well as rules on how locks can be obtained. With this rule you no longer have to run into deadlocks. The conclusion is a system that uses the processor(s) much more efficiently than the past.

There is another key feature that can attract your attention towards installing it on your PC. The amount of ‘free’ memory in Windows 7 is significantly less than the previous versions of the OS. The reason is not because the OS is unwieldy or badly written. It is using memory much more efficiently, loading things that you’ll actually need and holding them there, rather than on the hard disk.

For their focus on backwards compatibility we often make Microsoft responsible, but that doesn't wipe out the fact that Windows 7 is a very impressive operating system. The enhanced locking system of Windows 7 will only benefit your cause and provide you with a happy computing experience.
