Wi-Fi Glasses to debut this New Year

This New Year eve, you can raise a toast of celebration with your loved ones even without each other’s physical presence. Surprised, right? Well, with just a day left before the New Year rolls in, there is a unique opportunity for all you busy bees to stay connected with your better half while you both may be sited in opposite hemispheres.

Thanks to the latest wireless technology, even wine glasses are coupled with Wi-Fi trackers allowing people in long-distance relationships to experience closeness with their better half.

Researchers at MIT's Media Lab in Boston have developed these high-tech Wi-Fi glasses. According to an MIT source, when you and your partner will both raise your Wi-Fi tracker glasses they will start glowing warmly, even if both of you are far apart from each other. The central idea is to provide the unique feeling of a mutual drinking experience.

This New Year gift will present lovebirds a unique opportunity to rebuild some of the closeness of sharing a drink. Further, the trendsetters integrated an array of colored LEDs, wireless (GPRS or Wi-Fi) links and liquid sensors into into these unique glasses.

When you pick up your Wi-Fi glass, red LEDs on your partner's glass will start glowing softly. Besides, when your partner puts the glass to lips, white LED sensors on your glass rim will glow instantly, as a result you can say when your loved one takes a sip.

According to a Media Lab researcher, these Wi-Fi glasses will help people feel as if they are sharing a drinking experience together.
Already dubbed “lover's cups” these cool Wi-Fi wine glasses, are all set to make your New Year celebration a memorable one. Just put on your party clothes and set the festive dice rolling. Cheers!
