Citysearch and Twitter Team Up to Offer Business Tools

After the historic deal between Microsoft and Yahoo another bang has cracked the world of Internet. It’s the partnership between Citysearch and Twitter offering some clues about Twitter’s long-awaited paid accounts for businesses.

CitySearch has announced that it will provide the businesses on its site a few tools to help them make use of Twitter. They also confirmed that more tools would be coming soon. The tools catalogue includes some that sound a lot like what Twitter has repeatedly said it will offer businesses for a fee.

From Citysearch’s web site businesses will now be able to write tweets from their Citysearch page across the Internet. They can even create an Internet account on Twitter. It will be possible to sign up for Twitter without going to Twitter.com.

Citysearch wants to become a directory among social media listings. This is because when someone looks for a business on Twitter or Face book page, they can find it on Citysearch. It will also be useful on Citysearch’s mobile application because people who want to tweet about a restaurant or bar while they are out can easily find the required place in Twitter’s page on Internet.

According to a spokesperson, Citysearch’s new offering is the first step in a plan to offer small businesses a bunch of information to help them “understand when and how their business is being talked about, across the Web.” This will include analysis of what people are saying and whether the sentiments are positive or negative.

These matches up with what Twitter’s co-founders have said Twitter will eventually do, and officials from the firm have confirmed this idea. Let’s hope that the synthesis of this business deal takes the two companies a long way ahead.
