Yahoo-Craiglist spat heats up Christmas fever

With the festive week approaching, online gossips are making rounds in the tech-circuit. The latest online buzz is Craiglist`s banning of Yahoo sites and services.

Worried? Confused? Well, take a second look, the news might just turn up to be another hoax to fool you this Christmas. The recent statement from Craiglist confirms its falsity. The largest Internet classified site recently disclosed that a possible ban on Yahoo sites and services was imminent after site developer Romy Maxwell meshed up Craiglist services using Yahoo pipes.

However, this proved to be a fake threat to the Internet giant from the online-classified leader. Just two weeks down the line and Craiglist is already up with Yahoo services under its huge banner. Yahoo never claimed to be discontinued from Craiglist amidst several online community posts.
News from various quarters of the Internet circuit beamed on with inquisitive thoughts and suggestions about Yahoo’s possible walkout from Craiglist following the spat between the two houses prior to Christmas.

While Craigslist kept mum about the “ban issue”, it did not really surprise the online developers. Even, Craiglist CEO Jim Buckmaster explained the company’s rationale on the next day through his personal blog post.
The Yahoo ban issue over Craiglist domain created major headlines in the Internet circuit only to surprise the online community at large. However, the actual proceedings were held back from public knowledge.

Only recently, the news spilled out from various Internet sources that Yahoo is all geared up to counter this rampant gossip about its possible breakup from Craiglist. Even a top Yahoo source quoted that the cyber giant had no further intention to discontinue its association from the online-classified giant.
Now, with Christmas just a week away and with both the houses playing hide and seek for over few weeks, you can surely expect to find more crispy gossips on your Christmas platter. Enjoy a sumptuous Christmas feast.

With Christmas around the corner, Google is running all kinds of special festive promotions. The bulk of these endorsements require you to buy tech products to get hold of a number of freebies. The latest addition to the amazing list of free gifts on offer this festive month is a free Eye-Fi (SD card) that makes your digital camera compatible with Wi-Fi technology. The card is available only when you add up a minimum paid storage of 200GB to your existing Google account.

This unique holiday promotion is a courtesy from Google’s “Picasa” group and is valid for only a limited period. On an average, a free “Eye-Fi” card will cost you around $95. This offer is sure to catch the imagination of all the amateur shutterbugs as well as professionals using advanced digital cameras, who prefer to keep their collections obscure.

“Eye-Fi” is a Wi-Fi-enabled memory card with 4GB capacity that enables SDHC compatible digital cameras to go wireless by connecting it to Wi-Fi routers.
The Eye-Fi card comes with a full year of free “Geotagging” and “Web Share” which will cost you $24.98. What is even more, after the services expire, whenever you upload pictures to your “Picasa Web Albums” you can use your Eye-Fi card free.

Using the “Eye-Fi”card is simple. You can take photos and record videos with your camera and then upload them directly to your Picasa Web Album account. Conversely, you can feed videos and images straight to your PC via a Wi-Fi router.

According to a top Google source, this promotion is applicable only in Canada and the US. Targeted to the first time buyers, this special offer is limited only to five Eye-Fi card users per household. Overall, you can say this unique offer is Google’s very special way of saying “Happy Holidays.”
